The wife and I needed a getaway close to home but not too close. So we decided to go to Grandfather Mountain and onto to Boone, NC for the weekend! On the way we stopped off and Grandfather, It was foggy and rainy the whole way up but my wife was a real trooper and actually she was the one that wanted to hike. As for me I wanted to drive on up to the top :) We didnt let the weather stop us and so glad we didnt the sun came out just as we were getting ready to head back down. Such a good little getaway if your in the mountains check it out some time its worth the walk!!
